Nominator's project description
| Professor J. Doyne Farmer is well known internationally for his outstanding research in dynamical systems theory and economics. He has made important contributions to the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems, especially on embedding, information dimension, prediction and noise reduction as well as on nonlinear differential-delay equations. Later he combined this theory with challenging applications in economy and developed a new class of trading models and studied systemic risk. In Germany he continues these interdisciplinary studies with special emphasis on sustainability. |
